I kinda disagree with Peverley, his role isn't exactly that far off from what he's being paid and he's done that role ever since he was picked up on waivers.

I also don't think people expect him to get traded and be a 60+ point man, but a 40-50 that plays a two-way game doesn't seem to be too much to ask.

I know I'd take him over our 3rd line center any day.

Opinion from somebody that watches Peverley every night: I would find him to be the opposite of overrated. He had some potentially over-the-top figures last year, but I think he's been a pretty solid talent since coming to Boston and beyond, really. I mean for a while there he seemed to be one of the best bargains in the NHL with Atlanta, and since coming to Boston he's been a perfect guy to move anywhere in the top-nine with almost no drop off from a production standpoint. Plus, he's bought into the system and has become a solid penalty-kill guy.

If anyone in Boston is overrated, I'd honestly say that it's Tuukka Rask.

This. I'm a fan of Nash, but he is horribly overrated.

Kessel. Really bad player. Yet will somehow sign for another team when he becomes a UFA apparantly.

No if anything, they are sort of underrated. People routinely say Malkin Crosby Ovechkin Stamkos. But all round, Henrick Sedin is the second best hockey player in the world and Daniel is the third. After Crosby they are the best.

I think Jordan Eberle is the most massively overrated player in the NHL. Don't get me wrong, I think he is a great player, just, prematurly being cited as "elite" . For one, and I beleive it was Yost himself who pointed this out, his shooting percentage last year was unsubstainable and Nick Kulemin saw his goal totals drop by over 20 year to year after posting a similarly high %.

2. He is not even close to being as good as Nugent Hopkins yet I have heard lots of people say hes edmontons best of the 4. This is berzerk.

3 HIs stats are good, but this is a guy getting unlimited ice time and pp time on a team that is horrible and for instance, if he played on a different team his points would be lower.

Ryan Getzlaf
- robin_steele264

Someone is not watching enough Anaheim games. Getzlaf is perfectly rated. He is widely considered one of the best players of the second tier of stars:

Toes, Tavares, Getzlaf, Perry. He had 2 injury filled years and then last year he had his worst statistical year, but the guy is 27 he has a cup, a gold medal, he's a captain, he averages a ppg, and has potential to win the scoring title one year. Plus, he's tough as nails, plays a premium position and is in his prime.

Haha, I know. He's that hated by non-Leaf fans he's probably the most underated player in the League. Obviously not Seguin,Hamilton or Knight good.

But good nontheless Although Knight won't make it to the NHL.

Nope....I agree with stormey. The Sedins are terribly overrated.
Terrible defensively. Completely lacking in Leadership.

Well who exactly is saying he is the best of the 4?

And no he wasn't getting unlimited ice time. Shawn Horcoff and Ryan Smyth were getting a lot of extra time. It wasn't until February that Eberle saw an increase in his time.

As a side point, take away his PP production and he still had 56 points.

He's slow and doesn't score or produce well at all especially considering his linemates.

Dion Phaneuf - hate to say it but he no longer deserves to be on that list

OV - after 5 blistering opening years he gets a pass its ridiculous to put a player who's never scored less than 30 goals in his career in the overrated column...of course its S.I. they know nothing about Hockey (except about the Habs having the best jersey lol)

Luongo, Kovalchuk and Kesler....pure stupidy to put em in there, sure the first 2 have poopty contracts but are easily still top players in the league every year, Lu can't win the big games but it doesnt make him any less elite, Kesler...thats a travesty this guy gets injured and suddenly he's overrated lol

Komisarek and Gomez....like he said no one overates them, do they even still play in the NHL is what most ppl ask, Chris Pronger completely changes a team no matter what team he's on....as long as he's actually playing

to Put Jarome Iginla in there....they're probably still mad he got by those 2 american players and fed that puck to crosby otherwise total B.S...getting old does not equal overrated

and so we are left with

Heatly
Lecavalier
J-bo
Semin
Olli
Jovo

i can say for sure Heatly the rest meh....we already know it spointless to try and predict what Semin's gonna do...based on his mood i guess

I'm kinda torn on Nash, because there have been people calling him overrated for a lot of years now.

I guess the biggest thing is what does Nash have to do in order to not be overrated? At 7.8mil he damn near has to be a pretty solid player
